Facebook Security Part II - Connecting on Facebook

So who can find you on Facebook? Everyone!  Everyone that is until you roll back your security settings if you so desire.
To adjust these settings:
Click on Account > Privacy Settings in the top right corner of your Facebook profile.  There will be a section on Connecting on Facebook. Click on the link that says View Settings.  The following page will appear.

This page allows you to control the following: who gets to search you on Facebook, send you friend requests, send messages, see your friend’s list, see your education/work profile, your location details, and other details around likes and activities.  Your name, profile picture, gender and networks are visible to everyone and cannot be made private.
Adjust the settings for who can search for you, send you messages etc., by selecting the pull down menu beside the option and select Everyone, Friends of Friends, or Friends Only. On a few of the options you will get a choice of Custom.  If you select Custom, you can choose Only Me, or remove the ability of certain people or groups of friends to view.
After you are done making changes, select Preview My Profile at the top of the screen to see what your profile would look like when someone searches for you.
