The Library does what?

Many people are surprised to learn about all the different products and services that the Stratford Public Library offers - because yes, the library is way more than just books!  I thought it might be useful to share what we loan out,  what you can use in the library, and what you can access online.

For Loan
  • books - fiction, non-fiction, adult, teen, children, large print, multilingual collection (from not only Stratford, but West Perth Public Library, Perth East Public Library, and St Marys Public Library)
  • Stratford Chefs School and Autism Ontario collection
  • magazines
  • books on cd
  • music cds
  • dvds
  • language kits
  • pedometers
  • kill a watt energy meters
Use in the Library
  • reference collection
  • Chalmer's Theater Resource Collection (everything theatre - including reviews of current and past Festival Theatre plays, viewing station, theatre research computer)
  • newspapers
  • microfilm reader and current year of the Beacon Herald in microfilm
  • black and white photocopier (8.5 x 11, 11 x 14, 11 x17 paper) - $.10 per copy
  • 8 public access computers for those who are 13 and older (free access with your library card)
  • black and white printing (8.5 x 11 paper) - $.10 per copy
  • wireless access (ssid - hotspot)
  • download station for quick downloading of audiobooks
  • 6 public access computers for kids 12 and younger (printing available too)
  • 2 resume writing computers
  • Program room and auditorium available for booking
  • LOTS of events - computer training, children's program, lectures, presenters.... 
  • Reference Staff - gotta question - ask it! Our job is to help!
  • you can even recycle your used batteries and cell phones here
Online Access
I'm sure I'm missing something! There is so much we have here that you can access - there's even a homebound service
