Going on Vacation?

'Tis the season to start planning your summer vacation! Whether you are travelling to Montreal, Vancouver, London England, the Grand Canyon, or even New Zealand, we have the travel resources to get you started.

Take out the latest Fodors, Frommers and Lonely Planet travel guides to help you decide what to see, where to stay and even where to eat.  Or watch a travel guide DVD to give you a visual of where you are going.

If you are going to be traveling somewhere where a different language is spoken, why not try to learn a little? Phrases like "Thank You", "Do you speak English?", and "Where is the washroom?" can be very important.  Language kits and downloadable audiobooks are available for 3 week loans.

There are also many wonderful travel websites. Some of my favourites include:
You can also look up images of your hotel and attractions in Flickr or videos in YouTube - it's amazing the reviews you can find there.

And while you are on vacation, be sure to suspend any library holds. That way you won't be charged the $.50 fee for not picking up your requests.  To suspend a request, click in the checkbox next to each title, and then click the Suspend Holds button. Suspended holds are each shown on a separate page. You can activate suspended holds from the Suspended page.
