eBooks for eKids!

Would you like to see your favourite book turned into an action-packed, interactive cartoon? Well, that's just what TumbleBooks are: talking books!

The TumbleBook Library is a collection of free interactive animated talking storybooks for children. Children can chose to read the text or have the stories read to them. Some books feature "Word Help" to assist children in sounding out words. There are also book-related puzzles and games to play. This library has selections for beginner readers and older bookworms too. There are selected stories available in English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Russian language.

The Stratford Public Library now has access to this amazing database - it's available from our SPL Kids page and can be viewed in the library or from home.

We also now have access to:

  • Tumble ReadablesRead-along books for students K-12 with adjustable text size and complete audio narration. Sentences are highlighted as they're read and pages turn automatically. Great for reluctant readers and an excellent tool for ESL learners.
  • Tumble Talkingbooks - Streaming audiobooks from classics and non-fiction to novels, children's and teen books, and plays — including Shakespeare
The three Tumble resources have been made available through the support of the Government of Ontario, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
